Roger Thiede retired from
Procter and Gamble 6 years ago after working there for 35 years.
Their son, Matt, broke his neck just prior to our 40th reunion.
Roger is proud of his son who has has completed 40 college credits
since his injury. He has a service dog named Benjin who is a
beautiful black Lab. The dog can respond to about 40 commands and is very
instrumental in Matt's independence. Matt goes to therapy five days a week
and drives with the help of hand controls. He can now stand on his
own and is taking steps with the use of a walker. He is very
determined to lead a normal and productive life. Since Matt's injury,
Kathy has been very involved in the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation.
She is on the California Board whose purpose is to raise money for
research. |
On December 21, 2004, Jim Hempel passed away of a
massive
heart attack. Judy Gillespie Lawson and his daughter, Shannon Abele
planned a memorial service commemoration of his life. |

20 hours per week at her job at UNL. She had heart surgery shortly

Sowers, father, Galen L. Fritchie passed away 12-14-03. He
was 89.

Marica Howe Higginbotham is working as a Reading Specialist in a
public school as well as spending time with grandson, Hugh, now 7. She
traveled to Italy and Austria. She enjoys skiing and swimming. |
Alice Murkle Hughes is officially retired as of June 1, 2003 and enjoying
the free time to travel on bus tours and see unvisited country. |

Judy Gillespie Lawson is the proud grandparent of Devyn Rae, born
March 9,2003. She loves being a grandma and enjoys taking care of Devyn.
She retired from State Farm Insurance in August, 2002 and highly recommends
grand parenting and retirement. |
Judy McNeill Swoboda's father passed away on July 18, 2003 at the age of 89. |
Ron and Judy Legg have a grandson, thanks to Judy's
daughter, Karyn. His name is Andrew John Willison, born December 2, 2003.
They also have a granddaughter, Marlena Jo Henley. Ron
continues in his job at Nielsen Media Research. Judy tutors English as a
Second Language and belongs to a quilt group.

David Anderson and wife Sue are the proud grandparents of
their first grandchild (Peter David on March 15, 2003). David and
his wife continue to enjoy their lake cabin near Hayward, WI
and invite anybody who is in that area, stop in for a beer and a pontoon
ride.

Dennis Lyon's firm, Dennis J. Lyon, Architects is finishing up
a classroom
addition to the Southeast Community College in Lincoln and a street level entry
to the Richardson County Courthouse in Falls City, Nebraska. Continuing to do
work at Pfizer Global Manufacturing, Benchmark BioLabs, etc with other
commercial work here and there. Their custom home division of Lyon Enterprises -
KEYSTONE HOMES - has been busy because of the great interest rates and the
demand for new homes.
His wife, Gloria continues to work with the interior design aspects of
these homes but they both make sure they plan quality time for 4 grandchildren.
They live within a mile of their children, Bret and Chad and the grandchildren.

Judy
Keys Reid and her husband, Grant, were in New Zealand for fall (spring in
the U.S.) semester, 2003. Grant taught at his alma mater near Christchurch on
the South Island. They are now raising their 5th guide dog puppy. Their 1st dog, Felda, graduated from Guide Dogs for the Blind in
San Rafael in December 2002. Their 2nd dog, Missoula, graduated from Guide Dogs for the
Blind in 2004 and lives with her partner in Arizona.

Fawnskin, California. He is survived by his wife, Janet and a son and a daughter
plus their families.

Sharon Shields Moorehouse's niece, Jenny (Bob Shields' daughter) got
married in Maui where she lives. Another niece, Jann, (Gary Shields'
daughter) had quadruplets!! |

Dave Neal spoke
on plant nutrition at a horticulture conference in Hilo. In June, he and
his wife, Sue will be heading for Nebraska to meet their new granddaughter.
Their son, Taylor, and his wife, Marni, have a daughter, Naomi, born on
Valentine's Day. Taylor is in graduate school at UNO. Then Dave will head
to Quebec for another business conference. |
Enid Reeder Burrows has another grandchild, Matthew Nunes, born to
her oldest daughter Robin. Her younger daughter Lanette married
Matthew Rosenfield on the lake-lawn of their New Hampshire
home.

Erdman-Hughes, weighing at 8 lbs. 3 oz., 20 1/2 inches long. Alice had
back fusion surgery in June 2002. |

Sheri Jorgenson Mount was honored by Mary Health 100
Club for her outstanding work as a community volunteer and fund-raiser. Both
Sheri and her husband David, have received numerous awards for their community
service.
David, retired as chairman
of the Warner Music Group after 38 years in the music business and they bought a
camper/van and have been traveling around the country!
They also
traveled around
Australia and New Zealand for 5 weeks. |
Mindy Round Sharp and Nick are raising
their 3rd guide dog in training for Guide Dogs of America. Their first guide
dog puppy is now a breeder for the guide dog school and lives with Nick and
Mindy.
